About Matt
After graduating university Matt headed to Japan on the JET Programme and spent 3 years as an English teacher in the rural town of Hagi, Yamaguchi Prefecture. After moving back to the UK in 2008 he was eager to keep a strong bond with the country and started working for InsideJapan Tours – a leading Japan specialist tour operator with offices in Japan, UK, Australia and USA.
Matt regularly travels back to Japan for work and on his most recent trip followed Wales around Japan during the Rugby World Cup. Other highlights from trips to Japan have included watching the sunrise at the top of Mt Fuji, meeting a maiko (trainee geisha) and taking part in the Okayama Naked Man festival.
